Sedgefield is central to all the amenities and Garden Route outdoor activities. Our logo “If its Outdoors its out Here!” applies in truth to the whole locality.
The Garden Route is an extraordinary strip of coastline stretching from Still Bay in the east to Storms River in the west, a distance of roughly 260 kms.
This small region is traversed by multiple rivers, has a lake district of 5 lakes, unsurpassed beaches, some breathtaking mountain ranges, the largest stretch of historical indigenous forest south of the equator and a wild fynbos garden unlike anywhere else on earth.
Its mild Mediterranean type climate encourages people to explore this glorious natural environment and to enjoy a vast range of Garden Route outdoor activities that include wind surfing, skiing, SUPing (stand-up paddling) swimming, paragliding, hiking the beaches, mountain or forest trails, mountain biking many spectacular scenic cycling routes, fishing, kayaking/canoeing the rivers and lagoons or just enjoying the vibe, food and crafts at our special Saturday markets.

Sedgefield's Slow Festival is one of many Garden Route Outdoor Activities. The event incorporated a weekend in March or April each year. It is about returning to family values, sharing healthy outdoor activities and many new fun-filled experiences in our great natural environment...
It's a festival celebrating wholesome goodness, family, friends, fun, the outdoors and great food. There are activities for all age groups. Entertainment galore for participants and spectators. Competitions with lots of prizes to be won and many deserving local charities will be supported by the monies raised.
NB. Since Covid 19 scuppered the 2021 Event at the last minute, the time and nature of the event is being reconfigured and the way forward has yet to clarified.
